This recipe for bacon wrapped cod is incredible. Even if you aren’t a big fan of fish, you will appreciate how flavorful this dish is. Bacon makes anything taste better and when you wrap it around a piece of cod, you’ll think you are eating lobster. It’s very decadent and delicious!

Keto Bacon Wrapped Cod
Cod is considered a lean fish. Brushing the fish fillet with butter and wrapping it in bacon, increases the fat content in this low carb fish recipe, making it the ideal keto meal. Really, you could have bacon wrapped fish and use any fish that you desire – white fish particularly tastes the best when cooked this way.
Don’t want to use bacon, pancetta makes an excellent substitute.
What To Do If Your Cod Fillets Are Different Thicknesses
It’s inevitable that you have different thicknesses of fish especially if you are using frozen cod. For the thinner slices of cod fish, stack two fillets together. Then wrap the double stacked cod fillet with a slice of bacon. This will ensure an even cooking time between all cod fish fillets.
Can I Prep This Recipe Ahead Of Time?
This keto recipe works well if you are hosting a small dinner. You can prep the fish dish a few hours ahead of time and when you guest arrive, start the cooking process. That way you can enjoy conversation and a glass of keto approved wine and not worry about preparing the meal.
Prep the bacon wrapped cod as stated in the recipe, except do not season the fillets yet. Fish should always be salted right before cooking; otherwise, salt can start to denature the proteins, drawing moisture from the fish, and resulting in a dry piece of cod. Let the bacon wrapped cod fillets sit in the refrigerator until your guests arrive. Then bring them to room temperature and season right before cooking.
What to Serve with this Keto Fish Recipe
Almost anything would pair well with this bacon wrapped fish recipe. Try cauliflower, asparagus, leek, grilled tomato with roasted garlic or keto potato to serve alongside this fish fillet. Whatever side you choose, don’t forget your lemon wedges to squeeze a little bit of lemon juice on top. Maybe even a sprinkling of fresh parsley. Here are some of my favorites.
- Mashed Cauliflower
- Roasted Asparagus
- Keto “Potatoes”

I am cooking the bacon wrapped cod now and of course it smells delicious. I don’t know if the roasted balsamic green beans are keto but I think they’ll be perfect with this dish, Thanks for posting the recipe,

What a cool idea! It is Friday and I grew up with Friday being fish day, so here it is. Not being Catholic we can have meat, so why not wrap in (who doesn’t love) bacon!! Love it. I made a cucumber potato salad to serve along side.

I used barramundi instead of cod and this was AMAZING. My non-keto hubby who is a little iffy on fish loved this! So quick and easy. We will definitely be having this on regular rotation.
