What’s Inside The Snow Teeth Whitening Kit?

I bought the Original Teeth Whitening Kit for $69. My package arrived in the mail a little over a week after placing my order, just as I had expected.

It’s a small, solid box (about the size of a smartphone packaging) with a lid that slides off the top. It was wrapped in a thin cardboard slipcase.

Inside my teeth whitening kit were:

• Two (2) silver teeth whitening serums
• One (1) gold extra-strength teeth whitening serum

The box looks simple, professional, and well-made. Snow’s products were secured with minimal waste. I think it’s great they used recyclable and biodegradable materials (cardboard) and didn’t use too much packaging.

Which Ingredients Are In Snow Teeth Whitening?

Snow’s whitening serum contains hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide, and a combination of other ingredients that are safe for your teeth.¹

It doesn’t have harsh chemicals or substances that are potentially harmful to your health, such as alcohol, bisphenol A (BPA), fluoride, and sulfate.

Before trying the product, I investigated the effectiveness and possible benefits of its ingredients. Here’s what I learned:

• Hydrogen and carbamide peroxide ⁠— Dentists use both bleaching agents in professional teeth whitening treatments. They whiten teeth by breaking down the pigments that cause stains and discoloration.^2,3,4

Before & After: My Experience Using Snow

Before trying Snow’s Original Teeth Whitening Kit, the lower edges of my bottom teeth appeared a little yellow, probably because I regularly enjoyed drinking coffee and tea.

I used the silver pen and LED mouthpiece three times throughout my treatment since I didn’t want a drastic change. After the first application, it made my teeth whiter.

How To Use the Snow® At Home Teeth Whitening Kit

Before you use Snow teeth whitening, start your whitening process by brushing thoroughly for two minutes. Afterward, follow these instructions:

1. Remove the Original LED whitening mouthpiece with its adaptable input cords. Set to the side after locating the power source.
2. Remove a single wand of whitening serum, twist the bottom three or four times, and then paint the teeth in a stroke similar to painting nails.
3. Place the LED mouthpiece in your mouth for the desired time, ranging from 10 to 30 minutes.
4. Rinse mouth and mouthpiece with water. Repeat the process as often as daily, if preferred.

Snow’s products are safe for dental restorations, including fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, and implants. But keep in mind that restorations will not whiten.

Is Snow Teeth Whitening Safe to Use?

Snow’s teeth whitening kit is safe to use. However, they don’t recommend leaving the treatment on for over 30 minutes daily.

Teeth whitening is generally considered a cosmetic procedure. Therefore, whitening products may not be subject to FDA approval. However, people can protect themselves by following manufacturers’ directions and talking to their dentists.

If you have damaged or sensitive teeth, you may need to talk to your dentist before trying any teeth whitening product. You can also ask them for recommendations.

Snow® At-Home Teeth Whitening Kit Ingredients

Snow’s whitening serum relies on safe and effective ingredients whose effects are enhanced through blue light technology. Hydrogen and carbamide peroxide are trusted whitening ingredients that deliver variable results depending on several factors.^1,2

In addition, the kit’s serum contains sodium bicarbonate, also known as baking soda. This naturally abrasive ingredient removes coffee, soda, and wine surface stains.

However, baking soda can be too abrasive for some teeth, wearing away precious enamel. This ingredient is best used in moderation.

Peppermint oil is included to improve the taste and smell of the whitening kit naturally. This additive avoids pesky chemicals that might otherwise interact with the hero ingredients that make this kit popular.

How Does Snow Teeth Whitening Work?

The Snow teeth whitening kit has a serum that acts as a whitening gel. It helps remove teeth stains so that you can achieve a brighter smile. After applying the serum, you use an LED light to activate the gel, accelerating the whitening process.

My Experience

I used the Snow At-Home Teeth Whitening Kit three times, and the results were visible after my first 10-minute session. The images below are the before and after of my smile.

Mouthpiece and Serum

As with most whitening kits, Snow advises brushing teeth before applying whitening serum. I brushed for two minutes before removing the whitening pen and mouthpiece from the kit. Snow advises usage from 10 to 30 minutes and as frequently as once a day for expedited results.

The blue light mouthpiece comes with multiple adaptors that plug into various devices. I plugged the mouthpiece into my phone and set a time for 15 minutes. Unlike other devices, this at-home whitening kit doesn’t shut off automatically. It must be unplugged from the power source.

The mouthpiece doesn’t have a ridge for teeth to rest comfortably on and is quite round. Despite the slight discomfort, I committed to the allotted time. Then, I rinsed my mouth, rinsed off the mouthpiece, and dried it before placing it back in the box.

Side Effects

Though Snow formulates its products with sensitivity in mind, I noticed an increase in tooth sensitivity when I used the product too close in succession. Taking a break for a few days and keeping sessions to 10 minutes helped prevent sensitivity.

Results

This whitening kit has a helpful shade guide to back up the gradual whitening effects. Matching your teeth’s natural shade is an essential start. From there, track your progress gradually.

After using it three times, I saw my teeth lightened by two shades.

My Treatment Results

Teeth Whitening Process

Snow’s teeth whitening treatment is quick and simple. Each whitening session lasts 30 minutes to an hour, so I could easily fit it into my busy schedule.

It does require a bit of dedication. You’ll have to do it every day until you achieve the results you want. This could take days or weeks depending on how you adjust your treatment. Mine only lasted three days.

I did my treatments at night before sleeping, which Snow recommends. But you can do it anytime as long as you don’t eat for an hour after.⁹

My routine: For each treatment, I would brush for two minutes, rinse my mouth, and apply the whitening gel on my upper and lower teeth. I did this in front of a mirror to make sure that each tooth was adequately covered.

Next, I would plug the LED mouthpiece into my device and place it in my mouth. It doesn’t have a ridge for teeth to comfortably rest on. Instead, the device wraps around your teeth.

I wasn’t excited about this part of the treatment. While it wasn’t painful, the mouthpiece was bulky and felt awkward, especially with the wire.

It does stay in your mouth and you’ll eventually get used to it. With a little creativity, you can also multitask while the LED lights are switched on.

I usually kept the SNOWLIGHT™ mouthpiece on for 15 minutes before unplugging and rinsing my mouth. Afterward, I would wash it with water, leave it out to dry, and return it to the box when I wake up in the morning.

Side Effects

Snow triggered my naturally sensitive teeth after three days of 15-minute treatments. However, it was a temporary side effect that went away after a few days.

Snow recommends re-applying twice a week once you achieve your ideal smile.⁹ But this made my teeth sensitive so I tried reducing it to once weekly, which worked perfectly for me.

Using It While Traveling

Snow doesn’t provide a travel pouch or a protective case with your kit. But its contents are small enough to fit into most bags and easy to carry around.

You can also spare yourself the trouble by using the free travel serum that Snow throws in with orders worth $30. (You should see it at check-out).

For on-the-go teeth whitening: The free travel serum works fine if you need quick touch-ups any time of the day. It has a maximum-strength formula, so you don’t need to use the LED mouthpiece after application.

I was able to use mine in my car and public bathrooms before important meetings and presentations. Just make sure you don’t eat for an hour.

For longer trips: I reused an old makeup kit with compartments to safely store my teeth whitening pens, mouthpiece, adapter, and compact mirror.

The adapters for the LED mouthpiece were a huge plus as I didn’t need to worry about batteries before the trip. I was able to plug into my iPhone and use it while I was in my hotel room or Airbnb. It should work on most smartphones, tablets, laptops, and powerbanks.

My Confidence & Social Media Presence

Seeing how effective Snow’s treatment was, I found myself smiling more naturally and worrying less about how my teeth looked.

It also gave me the confidence to post more on social media, a change that my family and close friends seemed to notice. I started getting more interactions in photos and videos where I smiled with my teeth.

Does Snow’s LED Mouthpiece Work?

Snow says the LED mouthpiece activates the ingredients in their teeth whitening serum “to give you a brighter smile within minutes”.^9,10

While my treatment worked, I couldn’t tell if the LED light helped or if the serum’s ingredients worked on their own.

According to some studies, using light-accelerating devices with whitening treatment can produce better and longer-lasting results. Others say they can’t speed up or improve the effects of your treatment.”^11,12,13

Is Snow Teeth Whitening Safe to Use?

Yes. Snow teeth whitening kits are safe for your teeth when used correctly.

At-home teeth whitening kits typically contain 3% hydrogen peroxide and 10% carbamide peroxide. These levels are considered safe by the American Dental Association (ADA) and are less likely to cause tooth sensitivity.^14,15,16

Snow’s active ingredients (hydrogen and carbamide peroxide) won’t change the structure of your teeth. However, they can irritate your teeth’s nerves and increase your risk for sensitivity if you have naturally sensitive teeth.¹⁷

Keep in mind that everyone is unique. While Snow develops products for sensitive teeth, you may react differently to its formula.
